Productomschrijving

Alwaid Pro Black: LED stair lighting with a sleek black front

The Deko-Light Alwaid Pro is a compact recessed wall light designed for stair lighting. The light is mounted in the wall next to the stairs and illuminates the steps from the side. In this version, you choose a black cover: after installation, all you see is a sleek black surface in the wall, with light on the step.

With a recess diameter of only Ø68 mm, the Alwaid Pro fits into a standard flush-mounted box. The light operates directly on 230V and is dimmable.

Good to know: the housing that disappears into the wall is white (traffic white RAL 9016). The visible part, the cover, is deep black (RAL 9005).

One light, four different light patterns

You determine the light pattern yourself with the cover you choose. All covers fit the same light and can be easily swapped later:

  • Square, wide beam: a broadly fanned beam across the step. The most popular version for stair lighting, as it covers the entire width of the step.
  • Round, narrow beam: a narrower, directed beam downwards. Calm and subtle, beautiful if you place the lights in a row along a long wall.
  • Square glass, diffuse light: a square cover with frosted glass in a black frame. The light glows softly and provides orientation light instead of a beam on the step.
  • Round glass, diffuse light: the same soft light pattern, but with a round shape.

Black covers create the calmest look in a dark or sleekly designed wall; in a light wall, they stand out deliberately as an accent. Do you want white later? Then you only swap the cover. View all separate covers for the Alwaid Pro.

Fits into a standard flush-mounted box or junction box

The light is always mounted in a flush-mounted box, not loosely in a cut-out hole. Saw size Ø68 mm, installation depth 39 mm. We have installed it in a standard 50 mm deep junction box: it fits perfectly, including the wiring behind it. The screw holes align exactly with those of a standard box, so you can easily screw it in place.

If there is already a box in your wall, for example from an old wall light in the hallway, you can use it. Looping is possible, so you can easily connect multiple lights to one circuit. The corresponding connection material can be found here.

Note: this fixture falls under protection class I. The connection must therefore be earthed.

Directly on 230V, no separate driver needed

The power supply is built into the light. So you connect the Alwaid Pro directly to 230V, without a separate LED driver behind the wall. If you want to be able to dim, you replace the switch with a regular LED dimmer.

How many lights do you need?

Count on one light per three to four steps. For an average staircase of 14 to 16 steps, that would be 4 or 5. One light illuminates more than just the step below it: the beam extends over approximately one meter of stairs. If you want a tighter, more even rhythm, go for one light per two steps. One light per step creates a continuous line of light and is mainly seen on designer staircases.

Place them approximately 20 to 30 cm above the step. If your staircase has a turn or a landing, at least place one at the bottom step, one on the landing, and one at the top step: that's where people are most likely to miss a step.

If you are unsure between two numbers, start with the lowest. The light from these fixtures is generous for a stairwell, especially with a wide beam. You can always order an additional light later.

Also for hallways, corridors, basements, and bedrooms

The same light works well wherever you want low, focused light without a lamp protruding from the wall: along a long hallway, in a corridor, in the basement, or as a gentle night light along the floor in the bedroom. With a glass cover, the light becomes a subtle orientation light.

Warm white light and 5 years manufacturer's warranty

The fixed LED module emits warm white light of 2700K: easy on the eyes and pleasant for nighttime use. Because only 4W is dissipated in a generously sized aluminum housing, the LED module remains cool and operates well below its maximum. In practice, this is the main reason why an LED module maintains its light output for a long time. You have a 5-year manufacturer's warranty on the Alwaid Pro.
