Alwaid Pro Motion Black: stair lighting with sensor and sleek black front
The Deko-Light Alwaid Pro Motion is a recessed wall light with a built-in motion sensor. You install the spot in the wall next to the stairs, and it switches on automatically as soon as you approach. No more searching for a switch in the dark, no bright ceiling light in the middle of the night: just light on the steps, precisely when you need it. In this version, you choose a black cover for a sleek and calm look in the wall.
With a mounting hole of just Ø68 mm, the Alwaid Pro Motion fits into a standard flush-mounted box. The spot works directly on 230V; a separate sensor or driver is not needed.
Good to know: the housing that disappears into the wall is white (traffic white RAL 9016). The visible part, the cover, is deep black (RAL 9005).
Motion sensor in every spot
Every Alwaid Pro Motion has its own motion detector (IR/HF) with a detection range of 1 to 3 meters and a detection angle of 120°. Each spot reacts independently to movement in its own zone. As you walk up the stairs, the light moves up with you.
With the power switch, you can set the wattage to 2W or 4W: 2W for a calm, soft light level, 4W for full light output.
This version is ideally suited if your box only has a permanent phase and no switched wire. You won't need to break open any conduits. If you want the entire staircase to light up and stay on at once, choose the Alwaid Pro without a sensor and switch it with a switch or dimmer.
One spot, four different light patterns
You determine the light pattern yourself with the cover you choose. All covers fit the same spot and can be easily replaced later:
- Square, wide beam: a wide, fanned-out beam over the step. The most common version for stair lighting.
- Square, narrow beam: a narrower, focused beam downwards. Calm and subtle along a long wall.
- Square glass, diffuse light: a square cover with frosted glass in a black frame. The spot lights up softly and provides orientation light instead of a beam.
- Round glass, diffuse light: the same soft light pattern, but with a round shape.

Fits in a standard flush-mounted box or junction box
The spot is always mounted in a flush-mounted box, not loosely in a cut-out hole. Saw size Ø68 mm, installation depth 39 mm. We have installed it in a standard junction box of 50 mm deep: this fits perfectly, including the wiring behind it. The screw holes align exactly with those of a standard box, so you can easily screw it in.
If there is already a box in your wall, for example from an old wall lamp in the hallway, you can use it. Looping through is possible, so you can easily connect multiple spots to one circuit. The corresponding connection material can be found here.
Please note: this fixture falls under protection class I. The connection must therefore be earthed.
How many spots do you need?
For stair lighting, you usually place one spot per two to three steps, at about 20 to 30 cm above the step. For an average staircase of 13 to 16 steps, this amounts to 5 to 8 spots. Because each spot has its own sensor with a range of 1 to 3 meters, you cover the entire staircase.
Also for hallways, corridors, basements, and toilets
A spot that switches on by itself is also convenient in a hallway, corridor, basement, storage room, or utility room. Anywhere you walk with full hands or where the light only needs to be on for a short time, a sensor saves you from needing a switch.
Warm white light and 5-year manufacturer's warranty
The fixed LED module provides warm white light of 2700K: easy on the eyes and pleasant for nocturnal use. Because only 2 to 4W is dissipated in a generously sized aluminum housing, the LED module remains cool and operates well below its maximum. In practice, this is the main reason an LED module maintains its light output for a long time. Deko-Light provides a 5-year manufacturer's warranty on the Alwaid Pro Motion.
